Domaine Fourrier Gevrey Chambertin Vieille Vigne shows how Burgundy can be so intense but delicate. These wines are juicy and charming in their youth although always ageworthy. This wine ages in the barrel for a year but very little new oak is used; so the red fruit flavours, for which the estate is very famous, remain dominant in the wine. Most of the vines at this estate are very old, and this is no exception.
