CASTROL EDGE: OUR STRONGEST MOTOR OIL

Today's engines are smaller and more efficient, without sacrificing performance. These advances in engine design challenge the oil with increased pressure. To withstand this, oils need to be stronger than ever before. During every engine revolution, Intense friction hotspots occur, flashing into existence for a matter of micro-seconds, they continually move around the engine as it delivers power. Collectively, these friction hotspots can waste up to 10% of engine performance.

To fight performance-robbing friction, we have developed our strongest, most advanced engine oil, Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM physically transforms its structure - becoming stiffer at points of extreme pressure, keeping metal apart and reducing friction. Stronger under pressure, Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM transforms its structure and reduces performance-robbing friction by 20%*.

FRICTION IS THE ENEMY OF PERFORMANCE

Today's engines are smaller and more efficient, without sacrificing performance. These advances in engine design challenge oil with increased pressure. To withstand this, oils need to be stronger than ever before.

TRANSFORMS TO BE STRONGER UNDER PRESSURE

To fight performance-robbing friction, we have developed our strongest, most advanced engine oil, Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM.

In testing, we were able to observe how the oil transformed its structure at a molecular level. Compressed under intense pressure, the oil was studied using X-rays emitted from electrons traveling at almost the speed of light. This showed that Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM physically transforms its structure - becoming stiffer at points of extreme pressure, to keep metal apart and reducing friction. When the pressure subsides, the oil reverts to its free-flowing state.

UNLOCK TRUE ENGINE PERFORMANCE

Performance can be experienced in many ways - not least the pure joy of acceleration, the satisfying release of torque, or the simple exhilaration of raw speed.

For those who love the thrill of driving, losing up to 10% of engine performance is simply not an option. Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM transforms to be stronger under pressure and unlocks true engine performance.

HOW CASTROL EDGE WITH FLUID TITANIUM UNLOCKS TRUE ENGINE PERFORMANCE

Recent testing proves how Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM transforms to be stronger under pressure and reduces performance-robbing friction to unlock the true performance of your engine.

TEST 1: TRANSFORMATION

Compressed under intense pressure, the oil was studied using X-rays emitted from electrons travelling at almost the speed of light.

This showed that Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM physically transforms its structure under pressure to keep metal apart. When the pressure subsides, the oil reverts to its free-flowing state.

TEST 2: STRENGTH

Using pioneering ultrasound techniques developed by a leading university, the stiffness of oil between contact points on the camshaft were compared.

Tests showed that Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM was stiffer at the point of contact, when compared to the same oil without Fluid TITANIUM - proving the oil is stronger under pressure.

TEST 3: REDUCED FRICTION

Using an industry-recognised test, friction levels were measured across a range of speeds and engine conditions. Castrol EDGE with Fluid TITANIUM was shown to reduce performance-robbing friction.
