Secret Hint Saffron is hand collected in the famous saffron growing region of Kozani, Greece. Saffron derives from a flower called crocus sativus. The stigmas of the flower are so fragile that they must be gently hand-harvested one by one. Once collected comes the most critical and delicate process of the whole production: the dryness of the stigmas. Saffron cultivation may require great skill and patience as the slightest pinch of the spice goes a long way.
