Virgin Experience Days Velodrome Cycling Experience with GB Gold Medalist for One Person (12 Years +)

Cycle the hallowed indoor track of the Lee Valley VeloPark, and meet one of Great Britain’s brilliant Gold medallists at a special Q&A session after your time on the track.

The velodrome at the Lee Valley VeloPark played host to all of the indoor cycling events at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, seeing the successes of our own British athletes played out on its boards. After getting cycle-ready and picking up a bike you can rip around the track yourself and get a taste of cycling glory, with the session culminating in a Flying Lap to find the best cyclists in the group.

Afterwards, you’ll meet a genuine athlete who represented Great Britain, both for photos and a mini awards ceremony for the fastest cyclist. You’ll learn all about a successful athlete’s career during an intimate Q&A session and trackside buffet meal. Make sure you’ve got your questions ready – how often do you get to meet an Olympian?

On arrival at the Lee Valley VeloPark you’ll need to report to reception before being directed to the changing rooms and shown where to pick up your cycling equipment (though you’ll need to provide your own clothing). Once you’re all togged up it’s time to hit the track for a cycling session, culminating in a flying lap for those who want to test their speed against their fellow cyclists. Once everyone’s off the track you’ll get to meet a GB gold medallist and have your photo taken with them before a mini awards ceremony with medals awarded to the best cyclists of the group.

Then it’ll be time for a buffet and a Q and A with the British champion. All riders will get to take home a signed photo of them and the day’s athlete as well as other unique souvenirs, so you can continue to show off to all your friends well after the event.

Minimum age: 12 (under 18s need to be accompanied by an adult)

Participants need to be able to ride a bicycle

This experience is available on midweek daytime sessions on selected dates throughout the year:

We recommend you book at least eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow approximately 3 hours 30 minutes for the whole experience.

What to wear

Please wear sports appropriate clothing.

Insurance

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
 

Delivery Guideline

Experience vouchers are despatched by Royal Mail First Class Post, and will be delivered within 3-5 working days.
