Garofalo Tricolore Farfalle Pasta is a bow-tie shaped Pasta. The name comes from the Italian word 'farfalla' meaning 'butterfly'. Farfalle Pasta is formed from a rectangle or oval piece of Pasta with two sides trimmed in a ruffled edge and the centre pinched together to make the unusual shape. Tricolore refers to the three different colours of this Pasta from the addition of fresh spinach and fresh tomatoes to the dough. Garofalo wheat Pasta is made with only robust durum wheat and local spring water. The shapes are bronze drawn to give a slightly rough porous surface which allows sauces to cling to. Garofalo durum wheat Pasta is suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets.
