Firestone Vineyard Private Reserve Chardonnay 2022, 75cl

Firestone Vineyard Private Reserve Chardonnay is a smooth and creamy wine made from premium Chardonnay block on the Santa Ynez Valley estate, USA. The grapes are aged 10 months in French and American oak barrels. The Santa Ynez Valley is located two hours north of Los Angeles and five hours south of San Francisco and has the greatest concentration of wineries in Santa Barbara County. In 1983, Santa Ynez Valley was granted AVA (American Viticultural Area) status and of its 42,000 total acres, approximately 7,500 are currently planted to grapes. The appellation's climate ranges from cool in the western reaches near the Pacific Ocean to moderate in the east where the higher ground and coastal hills offer protection from the marine elements. Depending on the location and microclimate, the AVA is capable of successfully growing everything from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting Notes

With an aroma of oak and tree fruit notes, the earthy tones lend to a bolder taste, with a medium body and acidic finish. The palate is confectionery caramel, toasted meringue and brioche flavours.
