Domaine Ravaut Corton Bressandes Grand Cru 2022 is primarily sourced from dedicated parcels of old vines located within the prestigious Les Bressandes climate, widely considered one of the finest and most elegant of the Corton Grand Crus on the hill of Corton. This cuvée represents a peak expression of the domaine's holdings, situated on a mid-slope with east-southeast exposure where the iron-rich clay and limestone soils provide a perfect balance of power and finesse. This vintage is a blend of 100% Pinot Noir. The estate is managed with sustainable practices by the sixth-generation Ravaut family, and this cuvée is crafted with meticulous attention to terroir, utilizing 100% de-stemmed fruit and traditional fermentation in concrete tanks with gentle punch-downs. It was aged in French oak barrels (approximately 15–20% new) for 12 months to preserve its fresh, vibrant fruit character while allowing its majestic structure to harmonize.

A 12 hectare estate, established in 1897 and bottling its own wine since 1930s. Vincent Ravaut, 5 th generation, has recently taken over the estate. The domaine straddles the fault line between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, with most wines in the southern zone, and is a fine example of an estate producing wines of great value, relative to the region. This is one of the top vineyards (=Grand Cru) of Burgundy. South East facing light soil on the side of the famous hill of Corton.

Tasting Notes:

The fruit is beautifully concentrated; Corton Bressandes is one of the most charming and generous of the Grand Crus in this part of Burgundy; succulent and full of fruit. In 2022, there is great energy to accompany the rich cherry fruit flavours, and a fabulous, lingering freshness.

Pairs best with robust dishes such as roast duck, herb-crusted rack of lamb, black truffle risotto and cheese dishes.
