Domaine Ravaut Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru 2022 is primarily sourced from dedicated parcels of vines located within the prestigious Premier Cru climates of the Aloxe-Corton appellation at the foot of the Corton hill. This cuvée typically represents a masterful blend of the Les Valozières, Les Vercots and Les Fournières plots, combining the structural power of the lower slope with the aromatic finesse of the mid-slope. This vintage is a blend of 100% Pinot Noir. The estate is managed with sustainable practices by the Ravaut family, now in its sixth generation, and this cuvée is crafted with meticulous attention to terroir, featuring 100% de-stemmed fruit and traditional fermentation in concrete vats. It was aged in French oak barrels (approximately 15–20% new) for 12 months to preserve its fresh, vibrant fruit character while tempering its naturally robust tannins.

A 12 hectare estate, established in 1897 and bottling its own wine since 1930s. Vincent Ravaut, 5th generation, has recently taken over the estate. The domaine straddles the fault line between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, with most wines in the southern zone, and is a fine example of an estate producing wines of great value, relative to the region. This wine is a blend of two Premier Cru vineyards: Les Paulands and Les Fournières. The style of Aloxe-Corton is usually full-bodied and well-structured with firm tannins.

Tasting Notes:

We have a supple, concentrated wine with rich red and black fruit flavours, backed by sweet cinnamon and clove spice and hints of undergrowth. Firm, full-bodied and wonderfully lingering to finish.

Pairs best with robust dishes such as roast hare or venison, beef bourguignon, pork shoulder and cheese dishes.
