Product Details

Domaine Sylvain Cathiard et Fils Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits is primarily sourced from dedicated parcels located on the plateau above the celebrated villages of the Côte de Nuits, including vines in the village of Villers-la-Faye. This 2023 vintage is a blend of 100% Pinot Noir. The estate is managed with sustainable and organic practices, and this vintage was crafted following the same meticulous care as the domaine's iconic Vosne-Romanée wines, utilizing 100% de-stemmed fruit and ambient yeast fermentation. It was aged in French oak barrels (approximately 20% new) for 15 to 18 months to emphasize the purity and energy of the high-altitude terroir.

Tasting Notes:

''Exquisite aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and rose petals with a hint of mineralité follow through to a medium body and a solid palate with powerful, ultrafine and linear tannins. The muscle and long finish are so beautiful. The 2023 is an especially playful Hautes-Côtes endowed with tons of richness as well as structure... Red/purplish fruit, lavender, graphite, sage and a touch of saline build into the substantial finish. The 2023 is shaping up to be a jewel of a wine.'' Score: 90 — James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com, Jan 2025

Serving Suggestions:

Pairs best with robust dishes such as beef, lamb, venison, or a hard mature cheddar cheese.
