Château Rauzan-Ségla is a historic Second Growth of Margaux, widely regarded as one of the most consistent and sophisticated estates in the Médoc. Under the direction of Nicolas Audebert, who also oversees Château Canon, the property has reached new heights of precision and aromatic purity. The 2022 vintage is a triumph of its unique terroir—fine gravel over deep clay—which allowed the vines to remain remarkably resilient during the intense summer drought, resulting in a wine of immense concentration balanced by a cooling, floral elegance that is the essence of Margaux.

Tasting Notes:

Tasting immerses us in the naturally rich, powerful world of 2022. Built around black fruit, the wine is beautifully dense with ripe, fleshy fruit such as Bigarreau cherry. This intense fruitiness is combined with the tone of citrus notes, adding a sanguine touch to the wine. Sappy touches, a tussle of complex aromas. Smooth tannins, just tightly knit enough, clad the fruit in elegance and coat the palate for a lingering finish. Mineral, almost chalky notes at the end keep the wine’s energy going.

Pairs well with refined meats such as roasted lamb, grilled steak, beef tenderloin, roast chicken or duck. Also pairs perfectly with mushroom based dishes and soft, aged cheeses.
