Product Details

Chateau Labegorce Margaux 2022 is primarily sourced from dedicated parcels of vines (averaging over 30 years of age) located within the Margaux appellation in the southern Médoc. This cuvée represents a blend of several high-quality climates, drawing fruit from approximately seventy hectares of vines situated on a complex mosaic of silt-heavy gravel and sandy soils, which provide a distinctive combination of structural richness and aromatic finesse. This vintage is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. The estate is managed with a philosophy of minimal intervention, and this cuvée is crafted with the same meticulous attention to terroir as the Perrodo family's neighboring estates, utilizing precision viticulture and temperature-controlled concrete and stainless steel vats. It was aged in French oak barrels (with a proportion of new oak, typically around 40%) to preserve its fresh, vibrant fruit character.

This is one of the great estates of this famous village. The Perrodo family has had a huge impact on the development of the domaine since they reunited the historic Labégorce lands, restoring the property to its former glory as one of Margaux's most consistent over-performers. Purity and clarity of style are the hallmarks here, with an essence of exuberance, but somehow also restrained fruit showing how Margaux can be so intense yet delicate.

Tasting Notes:

An elegant Bordeaux blend with intense black cherry, blackberry, violet, cedar, and spice aromas. It is medium-to-full bodied, with silky tannins, a great purity of fruit, and a long, balanced finish

Serving Suggestion:

An excellent partner for roasted poultry, such as duck or herb-crusted lamb loin. It also pairs beautifully with mushroom-based dishes and semi-hard cheeses like Saint-Nectaire or aged Gouda.
