Product Details

Chateau Duhart Milon Pauillac 2022 is primarily sourced from dedicated parcels of vines (averaging over 30 years of age) located within the Pauillac appellation in the central Médoc. This cuvée represents a blend of several high-quality climates, drawing fruit from approximately seventy-six hectares of vines situated on the Milon hillside, where fine gravelly soils mixed with aeolian sand sit atop a tertiary limestone subsoil, providing a unique combination of structural power and refined elegance. This vintage is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot. The estate is managed with a philosophy of minimal intervention, and this cuvée is crafted with the same meticulous attention to terroir as its sibling estate, Château Lafite Rothschild, utilizing a brand-new gravity-led cellar and precise plot-by-plot vinification. It was aged in French oak barrels (with a proportion of new oak, typically around 50%) to preserve its fresh, vibrant fruit character.

This is one of the great estates of this famous village. The Rothschild family (Domaines Barons de Rothschild) has had a huge impact on the development of the domaine since they acquired it in 1962, restoring it to its rightful place as a premier Fourth Growth. Purity and clarity of style are the hallmarks here, with an essence of exuberance, but somehow also restrained fruit showing how Pauillac can be so intense yet delicate.

Tasting Notes:

A wine of immense depth and structural precision, opening with an aromatic profile of crushed blackcurrants, dark plums, and cedar, followed by delicate notes of graphite and violets. On the palate, it is medium-to-full-bodied with a core of dense, dark fruit and polished tannins.

Serving Suggestion:

Pairs well with  herb-crusted rack of lamb, roasted rib of beef, or wild game birds. It also complements earthy dishes like truffle-infused risotto and aged hard cheeses such as 24-month Comté.
