Château de Pressac is magnificently situated on the coteaux in Saint-Emilion. Part of it dates from the 13th century. It was at Château de Pressac that the treaty was signed after the battle of Castillon which put an end to the Hundred Years War. Mr and Mrs Quenin took over the property in 1997 and began major renovations. To recreate the vineyard on the steep slopes as they were at the beginning of the 20th century, they have not hesitated to cut curved, level terraces into the hills, as for the cellars.
Tasting Notes:
Château De Pressac is smooth on the palate and is accompanied by intense red fruit aromas and a delightful freshness in the finish. The balance is exquisite in this vintage, offering an interesting aging potential.
Serving Suggestions:
Excellent with grilled duck breast, venison with juniper berries, rich beef stews, or a selection of mature, hard cheeses like Manchego or 24-month Comté.
