Chateau Beau Sejour Becot Saint Emilion GCC 2022, 6 x 75cl

A dry, cold autumn, and then a mild, wet winter, ensured that this would be an early vintage from the start. The spring and summer that followed will be remembered for their exceptionally hot, dry character, but paradoxically, thanks to the early onset of the heat, the vines coped very well. Our vineyard was spared by the hail on 20 June and fortunately benefited from the few scattered rain showers that accompanied it. After the stress of 2021, 2022 proved to be much more clement in terms of the threat of disease from flowering through to véraison. The harvests took place in a jovial, relaxed atmosphere thanks to ideal weather conditions. Although the lack of rain significantly reduced yields, it did not impair the exceptional quality of this vintage, which can now be tasted: with a deep colour, it reveals fine, ripe tannins, a dense, elegant palate, and an intense, fresh aromatic profile. All the qualities of a great vintage!

Pairs elegantly with roasted, braised, or grilled red meats such as lamb shanks, beef or venison. It also works beautifully with truffle-based dishes, mushroom dishes.
