Originating from the Tuscany region in Italy, the grapes are grown exclusively on the Basilica and Solatío parcels, which are located in the most sun-exposed sites of the “Conca d’Oro”. 100% Sangiovese, all the grapes have been carefully selected and handpicked in early October. The wine is matured for 30 months in medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels. Further maturation occurs for 12 months in glass-lined cement vats then the wine is bottle-aged for 6 months.
Tasting Notes:
A deep ruby red colour with a faint garnet tinge. Alluring aromas of wild berry, fragrant purple flower, new leather, dark culinary spice and chopped herb merge. The vibrant, youthfully austere palate offers ripe red cherry, cranberry, tobacco and clove framed in bright acidity and firm, refined tannins.
Serving Suggestions:
Excellent with simple Italian cuisine. Pairs nicely with grilled meats, game, and mature cheeses.
