Camigliano Brunello Di Montalcino 2020, 75cl

The Camigliano Brunello di Montalcino 2020 is an exceptional vintage for this historic estate, recently earning a prestigious spot at #21 in Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2025. Known for its ''Rubenesque'' personality (as described by Robert Parker), this wine comes from the south-western part of the Montalcino appellation, where the climate is warmer and the soils are thicker, resulting in a bold, fruit-forward profile. The 2020 harvest brought reduced yields, but the grapes presented an excellent balance. The spring rainfall allowed the accumulation of important water reserves in the soil, which helped the plants to overcome a hot and dry summer, without rain and with rather high heat peaks, with peaks above 40°C between July and August. There is a soft and slow extraction, with fermentation in stanless steel vats at 26°C - 30°C.

Tasting Notes:

Highly aromatic and spicy. You’ll find bright cherry, strawberry preserve, and dark plum, accented by floral notes of rose and candied flowers, alongside wild herbs and black pepper. Full-bodied but elegant. It features velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, and a distinct mineral/saline undertone.

Serving Suggestions:

Roasted red meats (beef or lamb), game, mushroom risotto, or pasta with truffle sauces. It is also an excellent ''meditation wine'' to enjoy with aged cheeses, like Pecorino Toscano or Parmesan.
