The 2015 vintage of MAX Cabernet Sauvignon displays a bright ruby red colour with violet hues. On the nose, aromas of red fruits, tobacco, cherries and a soft spicy note, along with dill and peppermint, are all framed by elegant notes of nuts, chocolate and cloves. The palate delivers sour cherry, raspberry and a fresh blueberry note, followed by chocolate and nutmeg hints, plus a soft reminiscent of the roasted coffee bean. A long and juicy wine, with a refreshing acidity, marked by its freshness, tension, elegance all around the palate, and its fine grained tannins, ending in pleasant and long finish.
Great with Beef, Lamb and Poultry.
"The 2015 Max Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from their estate vineyards in the interior of the Aconcagua Valley, cropped from an early, warm and dry year. The wine matured in French oak barrels, 25% of them new, for 12 months before bottling. The wine is impeccable, with a nice Cabernet structure, and in fact it feels like a much more expensive wine. It has a slightly commercial profile, but it's less sweet and has a lot less oak than before. The price is a steal. The palate is vivacious and has a very good finish and a notable absence of menthol or eucalyptus, very clean and with focused fruit. 662,400 bottles were produced and bottled in six different lots from the same blend." :Luis Guiterrez, Wine Advocate Edition #230, April 2017.
