This is one of the legendary Grands Crus in Gevrey-Chambertin. The appellation dates back to 1155, when the monks from the Abbey of Bèze built a chapel on a piece of land next to the famous Clos-de-Bèze, the gem of their estate. It shares the strength and depth of the wines of the Chambertin family and has exceptional finesse. The soil type is limestone and clay with marls. There are earthy characters of plum and black cherry, with a warm finish and ripe tannins.
