Each autumn, a new collection of Special Releases from Diageo lead the way. Every single one is special, introducing a world of flavour, rarity and desire beyond the everyday. Almost all are at cask strength. They include small releases from fabled closed distilleries and supreme examples of the less well known, as well as unusual expressions of more familiar names. Many can only be released in tiny quantities.

This Teaninich 17 Year Old whisky is grassy, citrusy, fresh and complex. A first ever Teaninich Special Release, celebrating 200 years of this respected yet often unseen Highland malt. A straightforward and zesty apéritif, with a rich and light sweetness that introduces the enjoyable complexities of a lengthy warming finish, with spicy oak-wood. Aged in refill American oak hogsheads and barrels, this bottling showcases the perfumed nature of Teaninich with its light and grassy nose with touches of vanilla. The pale golden hue provides citrus and fruity fragrances, emanating pears in syrup, lychees, mandarins and lemon sherbet, with honeysuckle and perfumed oak. There is a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg, with vanilla toffee and creamy fudge. The rich and smooth texture offers a mellow palate with flavours of preserved fruit that are offset with zesty notes.
