One of Switzerland's best exports, Tete de Moine is a semi-hard cow's milk cheese which has a spicy, fruity taste and an earthy aroma.
Tete de Moine, meaning 'Monks Head', was invented by the monks of the abbey of Bellelay more than 8 centuries ago. It makes a great accompaniment to toasted bread, red wine and strong ale. Tete de Moine can also be used with a Girolle board to create beautiful rosettes to use as a garnish for salads.
