The Girolle was invented in 1982 as a way of scraping, primarily Tete De Moine, cheese.

It is made up of a wooden base and a metal rod in the centre, so when the cheese is placed on the board and the handle turned, beautiful rosettes are created which can be eaten or cooked. The rosettes ( which resemble Chanterelle Mushrooms, known as `Girolle' in French) look fantastic as part of a cheese board, or can be used as a garnish for salads.
