Leffe beer originates in Notre-Dame de Leffe, an Abbey of Premonstratensian canons founded in 1152. The beer dates back to 1240, at a time where drinking water was unsafe, the boiling temperature in the brewing process killed the microbes that plagued the water, making the beer safe to drink for guests and travellers who visited the Abbey.

Tasting Notes:

Floral aromas with notes of spice, vanilla and cloves. On the palate, a strong malty flavour reveals a sweet bitterness with accents of vanilla and cloves.
