The French Cheese Selection offers 5 flavoursome cheeses in one delightful package. They are the perfect accompaniment to crusty bread, fruit and quince paste and can also be enjoyed with good wines and real ales. The selection contains the following cheeses:

  • Brie de Meaux: A soft, mould-ripened unpasteurised cow's milk cheese. Made in the Ile-de-France region, the flavour is sweet yet smoky with a back note of wild mushrooms. The paste is compact, evenly textured and has the colour of light straw. The edible rind is velvety white.
  • Roquefort: A blue-veined sheep's milk cheese. The AOC dictates that the cheeses must be aged in the Roquefort-sur-soulzon Caves.
  • Selles Sur Cher: A soft goat's milk cheese with an edible moulded rind named after the commune where it was first made in the 19th century.
  • Epoisses: A soft cheese rind washed in Marc de Bourgogne brandy. The cheese was resurrected in 1956 after dying out. An AOC (protected designation of origin) cheese produced in the Burgundy region.
  • Comte: A smooth cheese with a springy texture and nutty taste. An AOC cheese made with unpasteurised cow's milk

Brie de Meaux: Unpasteurised Cow's Milk, Salt, Starter Culture, Animal Rennet, Calcium Chloride, Mould Culture.
Selles Sur Cher: Unpasteurised Goat's Milk, Salt Ash, Animal Rennet, Lactic ferments/flavour, Ash, Ripening Cultures.
Epoisses: Pasteurised Cow's Milk, Salt, Animal Rennet, Starter Cultures, Calcium Chloride, Marc de Bourgogne Brandy.
Comte: Unpasteurised Cow's Milk, Animal Rennet, Salt, Lactic Ferments

Allergy Information: These products contain milk. Brie de Meaux and Epoisses contain Calcium Chloride.
